Netflix Cheer

It seems as though everyone is talking about cheer right now because absolutely everyone is watching Netflix' Cheer!

This documentary shows what cheerleaders go through in their training for competitions and how dedicated and athletic you really need to be to succeed in cheer sport.

The show follows adult aged cheerleaders so please be cautious about allowing younger athletes to watch. Some of the themes are quite dark and the show contains adult conversation. Watch it first!

Cheer may be new to Netflix, but cheer has been in Ireland for quite some time and there are some amazing clubs running the game in the Irish Cheer Sport industry. Stuntworx is one of the biggest clubs in the country and also among the longest established.

A lot of people are being introduced to cheer sport for the first time by the Netflix show and it's a truly welcome boost for this amazing show. Netflix is such a huge influencer in trends and the powers that be are bang on trend with cheerleading. The sport has been growing ever since 2010 and Stuntworx are so proud to be part of the legacy of Irish Cheer and Cheerleading in Galway.

It's important to note the Netflix Cheer follows a level 7 team, and some of the highest trained cheerleaders in the sport, but Cheer is for all ages and levels. Beginner cheer starts at 5 with Stuntworx and we introduce athletes to the basics of cheer and acrobatics.

Athletes can stay at level 1 or move through the levels up to our Worlds level 5 team Alliance. Alliance is a coed team, the longest established Irish Worlds team, having competed at Worlds in Florida 4 times! The club is very proud of our dedicated athletes and coaches who are so committed to the club and the success of Cheer in Ireland.
